The good thing about having your own swimming pool at home is that you have an instant way for relaxation anytime you want to. Whether you just came from work or you just got out from bed, just take a quick plunge and you get a good refreshment physically, emotionally and even mentally. Swimming is always a good way to relieve stress and for as long as you keep it clean with the right cleaning products and effective cleaning practices, there's no stopping to the getting the ultimate relaxation at home. Below are simple tips to help you maintain your swimming pool:

  1. Choose a pool professional which offers a water testing facility. Water testing facilities can analyze your water samples through computer analysis. The results are easy and quick to retrieve. Most of the larger pool companies offer their services free of charge if you bought the pool from them.

  2. Listen to excessive pump noise. Pump noises are a sign of possible problems in your pool. Most of the new pumps that we have now are units which do not require close maintenance. Composition or rubber pump seals can go bad causing possible electrical shortness and failure in the bearing.

  3. Clean you pool regularly. If you're pool is often used by a lot of people, it is ideal to clean and disinfect your pools at least once a week. You can use bleach solution to scrub off stains. If rust stains are present, simply use a rust remover for a quick and convenient clean up.

  4. Check your pressure gauge closely and regularly. A high pressure is usually an indication of pool pump strains and an inefficient filter system. If you have an inoperative pressure gauge, you will find it hard to tell when water starts to build up from the normal level which is indicated by an efficient filter.

  5. It is highly recommended that you use green cleaning products.

With these five easy tips, you are sure to have a good plunge any time you want to!
