Going green in the kitchen
The term "going green" has been generally associated to favoring organic cleaning products over commercial ones - which is actually true. Cleaning practices makes up a big bulk for the whole concept of "going green" and saving the environment. And every "green" step that we do - no matter how small or big they are - can be a big help for saving Mother Earth and making it a better place to live in.
Here are simple steps to go green inside the kitchen.
1. Lessen your meat consumption. Meat and cholesterol have been a major cause for a wide range of "adult diseases" like stroke, cancer, heart diseases and diabetes. Cutting on your meat consumption does not only save you from these risks, it also save you from a boatload of savings for future medical costs.
2. Avoid using plastic bottles as often as possible. Plastic bottles create environmental hazards. Instead of using plastic, you can opt for tap water filters in reusable bottles. Doing so will help you save a big chunk of savings.
3. Use green cleaning products. Yes, we mentioned it above. Green cleaners save you from a lot of health hazards as well. Commercial cleaners release toxins which can be harmful to your health and to the environment as well. Natural cleaners have not just been proven effective. They have also been proven to be safe for everybody's use.
4. Practice compost. Find creative ways to use food waste as compost whether it's in your community or personal garden. Doing so will help you enjoy local vegetables for good health. It can even help you earn a living in the future!
5. Vermiculture is a food waste management program which involves the use of worms. Vermiculture may also be a source of living for you after you have mastered the whole process. But more than that, it is a brilliant way to manage excess food.
These may be very simple and basic steps and its impact may be negligible at the moment however, overtime, we will be amazed at how our little contributions make a better environment to living in. Throughout every process, don’t forget to pick only the best natural household cleaners for better and bigger impact.
