If you’re a collector of high-end furniture, an ink stain is a big horror enough to blow your sanity away. Why
not? Ink stains are one of the most difficult stains to remove. With only the best cleaning products and the right cleaning practices, you can now boast of a stain-free furniture collection anytime – not to mention keep a good value for your money too!
Keep these tips in mind for you ink stain removal:
- For ink stain removal from vinyl or leather, all you need is a wash cloth and rubbing alcohol. Simply blot the stain. Let the alcohol set in the stained area for about 30 minutes so as to successfully dissolve the stain. Once you see the stain slowly becoming invisible, grab your clean wet cloth. Using your cloth, blot the area. If the stain is persistent and cannot be removed during the first tries, repeat the process over and over again until finally successful. Always finish off by rinsing with clean water.
- For in stain removal from leather, simply use your trusted organic cleaning products. They are more convenient to use than “preparing your own” solutions. Otherwise, you will have to share some of your shaving cream. Simply apply the cream on the stained area. Let it sit for about 15 minutes. Do the same process of blot and rinse. Make sure; however, to apply leather conditioner to your leather to keep it looking good and genuine.
- For ink stains in fabrics, the removal process is almost the same as that used for your leathers. Just blot alcohol on the stained area. Remember not to scrub – just blot. Start by working from the outer sides of the stain slowly moving towards the middle part to keep the stain from spreading further. Bear in mind to wash the fabric in cold water after the stain removal process (this counts regardless of the process that you use). Air dry your fabric after washing to find out if the stain was successfully removed.
Whatever cleaning practice you use, it is always best to use natural cleaning products. Unlike commercial cleaners, natural cleaners have not only been proven effective. They have also been proven to be safe.
With these easy tips, you get to keep your hobby! No matter how grand your collection is, keeping them stain free gives you a good value for your money.
