Bed bugs are making an elementary school trend. As recent reports have it, they were sighted in two more elementary schools this week. Those two schools were the Bernice McDowell Elementary School in Taylor, Michigan and Oak Street Elementary School in Lakewood, New Jersey.
Students of Bernice McDowell Elementary School were said asked to leave their backpacks at home after the sighting of the pests in a textbook. They were allowed to bring their things but only in a clear plastic bag. Parents of them were also notified about the problem and were urged to see a doctor if bed bug bites are noticed in their children. And to clear the pests, principal Lynne Borg stated that the whole school was being inspected and treated.
Meanwhile in Oak Street Elementary, a number of students were said seen with bites suspected that of bed bugs. An inspection was scheduled to be followed by a treatment to get rid of them. Carl Fink, president of the Board of Education, said that the actions were taken as soon as they were notified of the problem.
