Morton Plant North Bay Hospital’s spokeswoman Beth Hardy though said that they were ready for bed bugs. She stated that they already had a plan laid out if any of the crawlies are to be found in the hospital. And on Thursday afternoon, that plan was rolled into action.
Promptly, after the discovery of bed bugs, seven patients were said evacuated from the emergency room to the hospital’s “flex” unit on the first floor reserved for overflow patients. Acceptance of ambulances was also temporarily stopped. However, voluntary patients were still received only that they were treated at the flex unit.
Meanwhile, the emergency room was screened and sterilized. Given that the response was prompt, Hardy believed that no other part of the hospital was affected. It was said to be back at normal Thursday evening.
