Mold has troubled yet another school. This time, it hit Roosevelt College and Career Academy in Gary, Indiana in Chicago.
An inspection earlier this month detected the fungus in five sections of the campus. However, its band and choir rooms were determined as the most-affected with the spores said to be covering more than 10 square feet of them.
Temporarily, the band room was sealed off due to a strong musty door permeating from it. And needless to say, that inconvenienced the students as they don’t have access to their instruments at the moment.
Some weeks ago, a busted boiler system led to frozen pipes. That caused the walls and ceiling tiles of some areas of the college to get soaked. And as it was believed, that was what brought the mold problem. Nonetheless, it was said that work was already ongoing to remedy the problem.
