The residents of one public housing in Dayton have had enough of the mold problem in their building. And so, with signs to admonish the authorities’ response to their complaints, they protested.
On Friday, some half a dozen residents of the high-rise Wilkinson Plaza took to the streets their grievances. One resident named Pamela Moss said that her health became worse because of the fungus’ presence. Another resident, Dennis Boddie, expressed the same thing.
Due to the fear over the risks that the issue presents, the tenants asked the officials to rectify the problem. Nonetheless, they say that Greater Dayton Premier Management and the landlord of the complex ignored their complaints.
GDPM, the region’s housing authority, though said that they already spent $1 million to fix the problems, which included mold after a pipe burst in 2011. But regarding the recent issue, the agency hadn’t announced yet any plan of action. Nevertheless, its new director, Danyelle S.T. Wright, stated that they would it fixed.
