One of the worst things about bed bugs is that they don’t spare any place. However, with their prevalence these days, reports of them infesting a house, apartment or even school is not that shocking anymore. But, definitely, it is troubling just as an elementary school in Pitt County in North Carolina has been troubled by them.
After two months since the start of the school year, a number of students of Ayden Elementary School were said seen with red bite marks. Those marks were believed to be bed bug bites.
According to Pitt County Schools spokesman Brock Letchworth, the critters have spread to the community. And now, about 10 of their students, he added, were determined to have a bed-bug-infected home.
Nonetheless, Letchworth said that the bugs did not come from school. Rather, they were brought in. And to fight their further spread, he stated that they were taking proactive steps and even bought a washer and dryer to get rid of the crawlies off the clothes.
Meanwhile, the town of Ayden was planning to hold a meeting to educate the public about the pesky insects and their spread.
