Patients at University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Easton were moved out last April 30. The reason – mold was found in the building.
The fungus and its damage were discovered during a search for a leak within the walls of the structure. It affected several patient rooms, although, the extent of its effect wasn’t determined yet.
In order to fully assess the state of the building, the Two East patient care unit of the medical facility was entirely shut down. Patients were transferred to either to Requard Center for Acute Rehabilitation at Easton or UM Shore Medical centers at Dorchester and Chestertown.
Regional senior vice president of Strategy and Communications for Shore Regional Health Until, Patti Willis said that the mold in the hospital needs to be cleared. But how long will that take and until when the patient care unit would be closed wasn’t specified.

There are many different types of mold. Some of them are toxic and some are not. Nonetheless, all of them pose risks to health as even the non-toxic varieties could trigger allergies and asthma attacks.
To do that, you must stay alert of mold signs. Additionally, you must have a mold spray ready. And the best that you could get for the process is the organic-based Molderizer.
As it is made of organic ingredients, Molderizer leaves no harsh chemicals whenever sprayed. That means there is no need to evacuate when it’s used. But even in the absence of strong chemicals, it is effective. It could kill fungus in seconds and without the need to scrub the surface hard.
In order to prevent the repeat of the problem, you would also want to use Safe Shield after the mold removal with Molderizer. This product provides an encapsulation that prevents spores from growing on the same spot again.
